In My Mailbox

In My Mailbox is a post where I tell you the books that I received this week either by buying them from the bookstore, going to the library or from my mailbox.

I got everything from Borders this week!

Freeze Frame by Heidi Ayarbe

No matter how many times Kyle rewrites the scene, he can't get it right. He tries it in the style of Hitchcock, Tarantino, Eastwood, all of his favorite directors—but regardless of the style, he can't remember what happened that day in the shed. The day Jason died. And until he can, there is one question that keeps haunting Kyle: Did he kill his best friend on purpose?

I've been contemplating buying this everytime I went to Borders and I'm glad that I finally did!

Glass by Ellen Hopkins

Crank. Glass. Ice. Crystal. Whatever you call it, it's all the same: a monster. And once it's got hold of you, this monster will never let you go. Kristina thinks she can control it. Now with a baby to care for, she's determined to be the one deciding when and how much, the one calling the shots. But the monster is too strong, and before she knows it, Kristina is back in its grips. She needs the monster to keep going, to face the pressures of day-to-day life. She needs it to feel alive. Once again the monster takes over Kristina's life and she will do anything for it, including giving up the one person who gives her the unconditional love she craves -- her baby. The sequel to Crank, this is the continuing story of Kristina and her descent back to hell. Told in verse, it's a harrowing and disturbing look at addiction and the damage that it inflicts.

I read Crank a while ago and have been waiting to read Glass, and now that I have the extra money I made sure to buy it!

What did you get this week?

They both look really good! I've been wanting to read Ellen Hopkins for a while now. Are they all in a series or standalones?

You had a good week, both look amazing. I keep passing them in the book store, but have yet to make the final effort to purchase them.

Have a good week and happy reading :)

Harmony- Yeah they are all in verse. But Glass is the sequal to Crank, so nope they are not all standalones. Hopkins is also contemplating putting out sequals to other books of hers.
