Mira has a mother and a father, but it doesn't feel like it. Her father walked out on her and her mother and well...her mom might as well have done the same. Basically Mira is alone through the stuggle of high school. But with the help of her first real friend Mira might be able to learn a thing or two and help her mother get her act together so she won't have to be alone. Too bad things take a wrong turn and once again, Mira is left alone. Will someone be there to help her finally realize that she has a purpose and people care about her?

It didn't really seem that Mira was almost 15. She seemed very young and not confident. Which I guess was understandable under the circumstances. I just wish she would have spoken up more and tried to change the events of what was going on. Still Mira fascinated me. Her awkwardness is very relatable to a lot of teens. We don't know what we're doing or what's going on half of the time. I haven't read a character as diverse and confused as Mira in a long time. The plot of the story isn't very origninal but Gingras was able to put a creative spin on it. Overall I think that Pieces of Me was a story that can take you back to your confusing high school days and appreciate your friends.

Fifteen isn't really that old, you know.

It sounds like I might like it. I will just have to read it and see. Great review!

Yeah, it sounds interesting.

Laina, you're right--fifteen isn't all that old. At least, the older I get the younger it seems. Even though back when I was fifteen, I felt like a veritable old soul.

I agree. Fifteen isn't that old. But a lot can happen at fifteen, burdens or experiences that in fifteen years a fifteen year old should not carry.
